Before I begin I’d like to say I also don’t promote obesity.it’s as harmful to the body as being underweight.

Being underweight itself in today’s societal construct is “ideal” even though it causes more harm than benefits.

1.Unstable hormone levels |Literally bad for development|
2.Fatigue
3.Imbalanced thyroid function |Slower metabolism,also plays a role in thyroid hormones T3 and T4|
4.Malnourishment |also bad for development and harmful to bodily functions|
These are just a couple of points

Girls would hate me for this chart, but after extensive research and personal experimenting here’s the ideal BMI and body fat percentage when we’re talking about overall health.

BMI:
15-17 (underweight):Unhealthy, poor bodily functions, you’ll experience fatigue way often, bad hormone function.
18-19 (close to underweight):This is acceptable to my eye, still shouldn’t be your goal at all.
20-23:This is the best body mass index you could have, overall in terms of how you look and health it’s very good.
23-25:In my opinion this is still good,in terms of how you look it’s not better than 20-23 but you shouldn’t worry about this but you’re close to being slightly overweight so be careful.
25-27 (overweight):I just wouldn’t recommend this.
Anything above that: NO.

In terms of body fat,I will not do a chart but 21%-26% is best,If you’re above 30% or under 15% get some help.

I hate seeing people nowadays talk about that you need to be very very skinny to be accepted, remember that if you actually believe in societal expectations and constructs then you’re a clown,no one in real life would notice that your BMI is 22,which to some people is “bad” which I absolutely spit on.
Also just don’t talk to me if you’re obese,I’m not supporting you.
Currently having a BMI of 21,I feel better than when I was underweight and overweight.

Also to play devils advocate being skinny is really aesthetically pleasing, but the health implications really aren’t worth it

Depends on life goals. If you want to mog but live a short life, be lean for the best point for your features and body

When I gained weight to bmi 20 I felt like shit. I feel much healthier at my normal weight.

You feel “shit” mentally because people tell you that you’re “fat” or at least what you think about yourself.
Don’t view the world like others, view the world of what the truth of it is.

No, I felt like shit cuz I was always nauseous. Each body works different...some feel better at bmi 25, others at bmi 15 and so on. My body wasn't fat but I felt unwell

Good thread but body fat percentage is like 12% to 25% (best)
