I was inspired by the other post, but for the older people, here is my guide for acing university.

1) DO NOT FOLLOW YOUR HEART, MORON.
Just don't. "I want to do what I love!" But will it make you money?? Choose a degree based on what will make you money / what you are good at, especially if those intersect. Why waste time and possibly thousands on a worthless degree?

1a) PRO TIP: DEGREES TO AVOID.
- humanities in general, but especially history, art history, philosophy
- art / 3d modeling / anything like this, the job market is overcrowded
- dance / theatre / anything like this
- basic science (like biology)

Remember you can change your major until about year 2. So just go in undecided you'll just be taking gened courses anyway.

2) MAKE SURE AT LEAST ONE OF YOUR CLASSES ARE EASY.
Especially if you're taking 5+ classes make sure one of them is easy. One that just has all the quizlets online and its just a time waster at that point. You cannot do 5 500 level classes and expect to get a good grade.

2a) also add 1 more class than you want/need so you can drop your least favorite one.

3) RATE MY PROFESSOR IS RETARDED, IGNORE IT
Some of the best professors are low rated on RMP or other services. Ignore it. Seriously. Its worthless. Usually made by idiot students who dont have a clue whats going on.

4) INTRODUCE YOURSELF TO YOUR PROFESSOR FIRST DAY, AND STAY IN CONTACT.
After class if youre in person just say hello to your professor. will help you socialize in general but will help the professor remember you. remember its not teacher/mr/miss its professor or dr when you address them too.

4a) ASK YOUR PROFESSOR FOR HELP WHEN YOU NEED IT
Esp if you need an extension. Just explain and ask, the worst they can do is say no. You can also ask them for extra credit, a higher grade, etc literally the worst they can do is say no so just remember that.

5) STUDY AT SPECIFIC TIMES
Study for a set bloc every day even weekends. You'll thank yourself later

6) RESOURCES
Studocu has premade notes and even lets you upload your own for money, so use it. Has saved my life a lot of times. Other resources include studyblr, quizlet

7) GROUP PROJECTS ARE INEVITABLE, SO TAKE INITIATIVE
People are just as nervous as you are so when group projects come up fake confident if you need to and set up your own groups even if you know no one. People will thank you for it, trust. Take the lead so you know everything will be okay and that way if someone doesnt do their work you can tell the prof and they will see you took the lead and restore your grade.

8) LANGUAGE CLASSES
Language classes are required where im from so heres my tip. Its hard and it sucks. You have to watch everything you already watch in that language. Find the dubs and use english or whatever language subtitles. Or you can use the target language as subtitles. You will not pass if you only do the course work and study a bit. You have to be committed. Dont cheat either because professors can spot it easily, but if you must, use yandex translate its much better than Google translate.

9) KEEP IN CONTACT WITH PROFESSORS
At the end of the semester ask them if they will be a reference for you. also keep in contact in general they can really help down the line. remember the worst they can do is say no.

10) OUTSIDE OF SCHOOL
Go to gym, eat well. dont get caught up in society like partying, that is gay and useless, focus on yourself first and foremost. if you want to meet people just hangout at the library or cafe on your campus if youre in person. if you see someone sitting alone and they dont have headphones on, especially near the start of any semester, literally just introduce yourself i promise this is foolproof. but if they have headphones in dont, they dont want to be disturbed.

Ill add anything else if i can think of it.

Additional: lie to your professors if you need it, as in, for a better grade, or you missed a class. lie lie lie and deny deny deny.

Additional 2: as long as its not related to your FOS (field of study), id say cheating is fine. literally who cares. but if youre smartmaxxing or want to feel genuinely accomplished then do do the work and use cheating as only a last ditch effort to save ur grade.

what would be the best degree for low iq cels like me? I am thinking abt doing business administration and then transferring to a college and doing accounting

Anything business you're set to go, accounting is great, you are on a good path!!! These are double edged tho bc you will need very good social skills, so use uni to practice those and make sure to get references from your professors

im going to be a pastoral rancher
ideal
id recommend studying some stuff about flora/fauna, survival skills, but yeah you dont need uni for that
do you have moolah to buy a ranch?

good thread, but my ass is already out of that hellhole.

Fine thread ig, I'll add that taking Ritalin when you study is helpful and for the part you said about partying not being worth it I'll have to disagree. College is a once in a lifetime experience so u should try to have as much fun as possible with you're friends because after it's just work and less opportunities to see each other, just have a good balanced routine and you should be fine
