Brutal back camera pill😭

Body dysmorphia means you think you are ugly tho
It means an obsession with your appearance to the point of pointing out minor flaws (that most people wouldn't notice), not that you think you're ugly. Nobody besides you would look at these images and think of anything about them. You notice the bloating (in your other post) + the camera differences because you have an obsession with looking for them.

People notice these flaws too...it is just that it is an unconscious thing for them.

Except I am...what is wrong with an average(slightly above) person complaining? Some people have higher standards
You have 2 tiktok accounts where you post your face on everyday, 7k posts in 4 months on a forum and the only thing u talk abt is ur looks and how ugly you are. That's not normal lmao I've never seen someone so obsessed with their looks. You're either fishing for compliments or you just have mental problems and crazy dysmorphia

isnt that why people looksmaxx? to not settle for just "looking good"? to try to improve every detail??

I think a lot of people who are interested in looksmaxxing are into it because they have BDD. Looksmaxxing, in theory, is meant to be a red-pill theory that's 'meant' to be based off of 'science'. The scales are meant to be 'objective' and there's a reason why there's meant to be 'science-based' guides 'explaining how to objectively look better'. If you've spent any time in these spaces (and obviously you have), you will recognize this is not what actually happens.

What does happen is people posting their photos in the rating section, ask what to be changed, then leave. Or people stay in the rating section and bump their threads nonstop. They do this because they want validation for their BDD. "You guys see this too, right?" On .org it's about romance and incel ideology in general.

The people who do make 'guides' are rarely doing it because they like the science of beauty, but rather to get reps. Most of it is stupid retarded AI slop anyways.

Looks=health, if u are healthy u will naturally look good, obsessing over things u can’t change won’t do u any good, also surgery do exist for extreme cases anyways

Youre definitely right that a lot of people in those spaces seem to have BDD or use looksmaxxing communities more for emotional validation than for actual self-improvement. Ive always seen looksmaxxing as something grounded in science too. People spend hours memorizing golden ratios, facial harmony principles, ideal features by age, and how some flaws are only correctable in adolescence. Thats why I’ve always been confused by the pushback when someone younger or already decent-looking asks for feedback. If looksmaxxing is about maximizing, then why wouldn't they be welcome? Why is it suddenly "go live your life" instead of encouraging them to use their potential window wisely? Not everyone is here to cry about being ugly, some people genuinely want to improve or fix something they noticed.

Getting brutally honest feedback is exactly what helps someone grow. If a flaw is real and someone points it out, it's clarity. Isn’t that the whole point of these forums? despite how others act i like to keep that mentality for the most part.

I think the primary reason why kids get a lot of push back on here is because there's only a small % that can or will do anything. Very small. Comically small. Most kids are not going to buy a constant supply of needles, hormones, alcohol prep pads, and a shit ton of other stuff it takes to optimize their genetics. Most plastic surgery can only be done after development as well. They're normally spending their youth worrying about stuff they can't change or won't ask their parents for help with (or if they do I doubt the parents would allow it). It's normally why I tell kids about softmaxxing. Maybe their parents will get them a moisturizer if they ask them.

Not to throw Ela under the bus because she's technically not doing anything wrong, but she's a good example. I personally think everyone is welcomed, but the reality of it is people hardly change. I'm not even sure Ela has made any dramatic change since being on here. I've tried looking at her older images and I didn't notice a dramatic change. I could be wrong and I would like to be corrected on this if what I said is false. The way I see it, she's already maximized to the point she's comfortable. Everything after that is either validation for a bad thought or a dismissal of one.

Brutality is only helpful to those who those who motivate themselves to change. Otherwise it's self harm. Ela is an interesting case because she's correct in that she doesn't call herself ugly and it's true that she's just seeking what everyone else is seeking on here. Her obsession is unique and I don't think I've seen any other user like her. I sometimes find her weird but to be honest she's technically the 'ideal' user for a site like this. Active, shares herself, talks about beauty, etc. But it's clear that she's not on here because she loves the science of beauty. Ela is a very beautiful woman. It's hard to see someone who's pretty like her rot away on a site like this for what seems like no gain. I understand the desire to question her motives for being on here.

I get what you're saying, and I think you’re mostly right. That’s where softmaxxing definitely makes more sense. But I also think it’s a little unfair to measure someone’s “worth” on the forum by how drastically they change. Sometimes just knowing what’s wrong (or not wrong) is enough to kill the obsession.

i agree completely though, and think if youre comfortable with your looks, and only logging on to get validation and agreement, there's no reason to be on here. at that point its a mentality that you need to be fixing.
